I can vividly remember purchasing my very first block of #ceremonialcacao. waiting with anticipation for it to arrive via courier. How it smelt when I unwrapped it, how I felt holding it with excitement and then how it sat in my cupboard for months because of the fear that I would make it "wrong". Until one day using my friend google, I searched for a recipe and began my journey.....
It .......
was..........
awful!
I had used a recipe that called for cayenne pepper to "help with the activation of the #cacao", it smelt like a hot chocolate, and I had anticipated a deliciously sweet and yummy treat. Having only experienced ceremonial cacao once prior at an event, I felt deflated.
The cacao sat in my cupboard for a couple more months, until one day a beautiful friend was talking about ceremonial cacao and how amazing it was and how she made hers. I asked for her recipe and followed it exactly.....
It.........
was.........
better.
So, I started to make myself a small cacao maybe once a fortnight and chose a time where I wasn't distracted by my husband or children and most importantly by myself.
I had created a ritual and from here it grew and grew and grew......
